Busyness Is Not Your Friend. Its Your Enemy

One of the biggest
enemies that Christian
men face in their life today
is a life of busyness and it
can lead to sin and broken
families.
It can be an addiction to
the point that we feel we
can't survive without it. We
as men in the secular work
place as well as men in
ministry  can be so deceived into thinking that
we are doing good things, but is it the God
Thing.
"
The longing we have to feel significant is a
beguiling, hard-to-understand but very real
need. When we are wanted or needed by
others, we feel this need is being met. Often,
however, we become busy but don't actually
do anything significant.-
Patrick Worley-
We can become busy and feel good about
ourselves, because everyone is coming at us.
Phone is constantly ringing with people
wanting to talk. So, by the end of the day we
have had our fix, we have had our high. We
then go home to the family and we don't even
know how to relate to our own family. We don't
know how to set quality time aside for our
wives and children. We don't know how to take
quality time for fellowship with other believers
and we become even more insecure than we
were to begin with.
In talking with Christian men I find many who
are looking for a way out of busyness, but they
feel it is impossible. As I was leading a men's
small group one morning in my garage and
one man with all sincerity asked, " well how do
I take time for fellowship." It was not someone
just asking a simple questions. I could tell by
the tone in his voice he was searching for
freedom.

Here is a way to get off the fast track of
addiction to  busyness:
1.
We need to  trust ( have faith )in the God
who made us.
2. Realize our significance and value as a
man is not in our busyness, money, good job,
nice car, nice home, your marriage, good
family...etc... but your significance and value as
a man is first found by how much faith we
have in Jesus Christ. In
Romans 12: 3 NLT
the Apostle Paul says, "
As God's messenger,
I give each of you this
WARNING !!!: Be honest
in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your
value by how much faith God has given you."
Tony Snow, former White House
Press Secretary shares his
testimony of faith before his death
with cancer.
